COULD YOUR DOG BE A WORLD CHAMPION?

The 2010 Eukanuba World Challenge offers 41 representative dogs, from countries all around the globe, the chance to compete at the 2010 Eukanuba World Challenge and/or 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship. The Australian
representative will receive an all expenses paid* trip to Long Beach, California to compete for the title and $10,000 grand prize.

Eukanuba and ANKC have formulated a points system that will select the Australian representative. The points score applies to every All Breeds Championship Dog Show held in Australia between 1st January and the 1st September 2010.

ABOUT THE EUKANUBA WORLD CHALLENGE

The American Kennel Club (AKC), the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI) and Eukanuba share a common passion: to showcase the excellence of dogs.

The Eukanuba World Challenge offers top dogs from around the world the unique opportunity to participate in the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship in California. All eligible dogs may compete to win the $50,000 prize for Best in Show.

Dogs also compete for the title of Eukanuba World Challenge Champion, with a $10,000 prize; additional prizes are $3,000 for the runner-up and $2,000 for first runner-up.

In 2010, the 41 selected dogs, representing countries from around the globe, receive an all-expenses paid* trip to compete at the 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship and/or the 2010 Eukanuba World Challenge at the Long Beach Convention Center in California, USA, December 4th - 5th, 2010.

2010 EUKANUBA WORLD CHALLENGE RULES & REGULATIONS

TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR DOG OWNERS WISHING TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2010 EUKANUBA WORLD CHALLENGE

The national kennel club of each country will be responsible for nominating its country's top dog plus one reserve dog. The following terms outline the 2010 Eukanuba World Challenge requirements.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. Participation to the 2010 AKC/Eukanuba World Challenge, and to the events held in California in December 2010, entails full agreement to the following terms and conditions.
  2. Terms and Conditions are subject to change and changes will be posted on the Eukanuba internet site (www.eukanubaworldchallenge.com). The challenge is open from date of posting on the internet. It is a challenge, not a contest, so that good faith effort and cooperation is expected from participants.
  3. If there is a Eukanuba Breeders Club in the country of residence of the owner, he/she WILL register via this local Breeders Club AND satisfy any local regulation set for the Challenge by this Club. This may require being or becoming a member by August 1st, 2010, the latest.
  4. The "Eukanuba World Challenge" allows selected people and their dogs to participate in the "2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship" in the USA. The Challenge and Championship are independent events and may have different conditions (for instance, FCI breed requirement for the Challenge, and AKC breed requirement for the Championship).
  5. Participants to the Eukanuba World Challenge act independently and can in no way be considered as agents, representatives or employees of Eukanuba or P&G.
  6. 'Eukanuba' is a brand owned by Procter & Gamble. Procter & Gamble International Operations SA, CH-1213 Switzerland ("P&G") is organizing this Challenge.
  7. Understanding English, which is the official language of the Challenge, is required to participate. The Challenge Organizers reserve the right to refuse any correspondence addressed in any other language.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS - WHAT IS EXPECTED

Top dogs and accompanying owners need to adhere to the following conditions to be eligible to participate:

  • The participating dog must be selected by the kennel club of the nominated country and must be residing in this country during the 2010 show season.
  • Dog owner must be 18 or over and legal/official owner of the dog.
  • Dog must be a FCI recognised breed to compete in the Eukanuba World Challenge. Details can be found at: http://www.fci.be/
  • Dog must meet AKC's eligibility standards and be an AKC recognized breed to compete in the 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship. Details can be found at: http://www.akc.org
  • Dogs and accompanying people must be fully available for the dates of the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship and Eukanuba World Challenge (December 4th – 5th, 2010), plus surrounding days of December 2nd -6th, 2010, plus any required travel time to California from home and back.
  • The dog's owner must agree to accept to transfer his name and image rights (name & image of the dog, name & image of the breeder owner) for any Eukanuba related promotional activity (e.g. TV, advertisement, POS materials, and presence at PR events) before and after the 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship and 2010 Eukanuba World Challenge, free of charge i.e. without royalty or remuneration for this transfer of rights.
  • The dog and the 2 persons (if applicable), accompanying the dog to the competition must comply with any health and administrative requirements to enter the USA, including but not limited to valid (pet and personal) passport in compliance with the USA immigration regulations for your country. Visit www.unitedstatesvisas.gov for more details and check with your doctor/veterinarian for health information and any specific health requirement you or your dog may have.
  • Eukanuba reserves the right to refuse participants which have not been truthful or accurate in the information submitted.

PRIZE DESCRIPTION - WHAT CAN BE WON

The selected dogs and the accompanying people (max. 2 people per selected dog) will be invited for a 5 days, expenses paid* trip to represent their country at the 2010 Eukanuba World Challenge and/or the 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship:

  • The selected dogs will compete in the 2010 Eukanuba World Challenge for the title of the Eukanuba World Challenge Champion, with a $10,000 prize for the winner, $3,000 for the runner up and $2,000 for the 3rd place.
  • The selected dogs make their owners eligible to win the $50,000 trophy prize for the Best in Show dog by competing within their breed classes under the AKC conditions at the 2010 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship (for more information visit the site: http://www.akc.org.)

(*) Expenses will be covered and organised for the winners by P&G as follows:

  • Flight trip for 1 person + dog from closest airport to Long Beach, California (flight arrangement and travel class (tourist class) determined by P&G).
  • If an owner of a dog selected to participate in the 2010 Eukanuba World Challenge is an active member of the Eukanuba Breeders' Club on August 1st 2010, Eukanuba will cover travel and hotel expenses of an accompanying person as well.
  • Hotel & meals organized for a period of 5 days (lodging arrangements determined by P&G; maximum meal budgets may apply).
  • Transportation cost from home to airport, and upon return from airport to home, will be paid by Eukanuba upon proof of receipt with a maximum of 2 x 50 Euro per taxi (for train costs, you must obtain prior P&G approval).
  • All costs, even those unexpected, not listed above are not covered by Eukanuba/P&G and must be borne by the participants themselves.

ALL OWNERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR OWN INSURANCE DURING THE FULL DAYS OF TRAVEL AND EVENT, FOR THEMSELVES AND THEIR DOGS. P&G IS NOT TAKING INSURANCE NOR LIABILITY FOR THE OWNERS OR THEIR DOGS.
