Pekingese Breed Standard - Amendment

and it was resolved at the October 2008 ANKC Conference to put the adoption of the amendment standard on hold until the Pekingese Breed Clubs in England had a chance to review the revised standard.

The Kennel Club (England) welcomed the outcome of their meeting with Pekingese Breed Clubs held in October at which the revised breed standard for the Pekingese, which is set radically to improve the health of the breed, was accepted without reservation by all clubs present.

The Kennel Club (England) confirmed that no further changes to the standard will be considered for a period of three [3] years.

Accordingly the reason for delaying the adoption of the amended standard was removed and in this politically sensitive climate the ANKC will act as quickly as possible to address any issue that benefits the health of our dogs.

Therefore the amended Pekingese standard has been down loaded on to the ANKC Web Site and comes into affect immediately.
